Let good old Uncle Sam teach you one thing or two about living your best life. There's no day like another here, so be prepared to get exhausted while filling your soul with unforgettable memories. If you're in New York looking for a flashy, in-your-face spectacle, head towards Time Square, the tourist central point of interest where giant screens will get you hypnotised in no time. Another emblematic symbol of the American society and all it stands for is to be seen at Mount Rushmore, featuring the largest work of art on Earth, depicting 4 of the greatest U.S. presidents of all time. Make sure to add to your list of unmissable attractions the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, the White House and...the list could go on forever. If you're more into natural wonders, there is also a large palette to explore: the astonishing Grand Canyon, the superb Niagara Falls, the hot California with its incredible surfers, the exotic Hawaii, Malibu with its perfect waves, the Yellowstone National Park and its steaming geysers, challenging hiking treks and bisons or wolves walking freely. For real fun, what better place than Las Vegas where greatest stars perform mind blowing shows on a daily basis. We know, it can be overwhelming, but such a large country does require time and energy to be fully explored and, of course, some good pairs of comfy shoes.Pack you backpack and go, no time to waste!

Smells

Apart from the smell of freedom that allures many immigrants from all over the world in search of a better lifestyle, the USA has a couple of olfactory trademarks that have almost become synonymous with the American dream: hot dogs ready to be devoured early in the morning or, basically, any time of the day; steaming Starbucks coffee being carefully carried all over the streets as a vital, life-giving liquid fuelling everyone from homeless to CEOs; the sickening smell of grease or burned oil used in the fast food chains all over the country; the sweet aroma of cinnamon, vanilla or pumpkin spice coming from the many pastry shops with people queuing by; luxurious perfume sprayed on the wrists of businesswomen walking by on Wall Street; fresh grass and wild flowers on the open fields in Kansas, where Dorothy must have looked for the Wizard of Oz; the dizzying smell of whiskey and tobacco in a bar in Texas. What a land of contrasts!

Tastes

When thinking about American food we wouldn't necessarily picture a Michelin-starred restaurant with delicious, perfectly plated dishes. Not that there wouldn't be enough to choose from. Let's just say that people here are not so much concerned about health, but about indulging in large quantities of their favourite meals, regardless of the calorie count: think McDonald's menus always accompanied by a large Coke, huge hamburgers, giant pizzas, tasty barbecues, filling cheeseburgers and hot dogs, delicious chocolate chip cookies, fluffy pancakes with maple syrup on top, or peanut butter sandwiches. Let's not forget the Americans' most important meal of the year when every family gathers around the table: the Thanksgiving dinner with its ginormous roast turkey, corn pudding and pumpkin pie. All in all, when it comes to American food, it's all about eating and feeling good about it. No room for regrets.

Feels

America, so many things to love about it and so much to hate. It can make you feel young, wild or carefree; it can turn you into a workaholic, chasing the next promotion; it can delude you with its bright, colourful display windows, its celebrities with perfect teeth and their luxurious cars; it can turn you from a no one into a millionaire in a blink; it can give you hope, a dream to chase, a path to follow and the possibility to change any of these as you go along. Many have perceived the USA like a chimera, a mirage, but then realised that, at the end of the day, it is just like any another country where, if you really work hard for what you want, you can actually achieve anything.
