A maximum of seventy guests get to share four monumental pools, three restaurants, a bar, a library, a beach shack stocked with every conceivable water toy and a closet in your private bungalow big enough for Elton John's wardrobe.
Amankila is perched on a cliff-face overlooking the Lombok Strait, hundreds of meters above an isolated beach. With everything on different levels, Amankila is a carefully orchestrated series of vistas, the most dramatic of which is formed by the three successive 'spill pools'.
Perched on its cantilevered cliff top location, all of Amankila benefits from a sweeping, cinematic panorama of jungle, beach and ocean.
Cantilevered from the side of a steep cliff, and connected by a series of geometric staircases, Amankila guest bungalows are elegantly beautiful, and completely private, and each is blessed with a spectacular view.
The restaurant, which specialises in Indonesian cuisine, is pure theatre. During the day there is the enduring spectacle of the view and at night there are often live performances of Balinese dance.
There are two bars, one is just above the three cascading swimming pools and the other is at the beach club.
