Hotel Particulier Montmartre might look like an ordinary hotel from the outside, but get inside and a whole new world awaits. Formerly a private home, it was recently turned into a five-suite hotel surrounded by an exquisite garden and a turn of the century petanque court.
Gaze out onto the hidden garden, huge for Paris, from the hotel’s charming eatery, which has a turn of the century French cafe vibe.
Suitably hidden away for the perfect private stay, here in historic Montmartre, the hotel can be found up a private cobbled alley, past ancient trees and through an elegant black gate.
With just five suites, it's hard to choose your favourite, as they're all gorgeous. Thick camel carpets and striped curtains give this Vitrine suite a 1970s Chabrol film feel. This is definitely a couples' room - erotic and gourmet objects fill the display case and a marble bathroom with a built-in steam room awaits you.
The hotel dining room brings back echoes of a former, more formal age. A seasonal menu includes ingredients from the hotel's own kitchen garden and beehives.
You can still find the treasures of the 19th century here, saved by the family whose house this was. Wander through boudoirs and sitting rooms and indulge in lengthy breakfasts. There’s no rush here.
You’re in an oasis of calm here despite being in one of the busiest areas of Paris - Hotel Particulier Montmartre is a well-kept secret you’ll be delighted to have discovered.
