Between a Rock and a Hippo

Ulusaba Rock Lodge offers something no other safari lodge in Sabi Sands can offer: an eagle's perch from the only elevated rocky outcrops in the entire area.

The Location

The Cliff Lodge, a private villa within the Rock Lodge compound, sets new standards in terms of space, privacy and wow factor. For once, the architecture and design are able to hold their own with the natural beauty of the setting.

The Rooms

During the day, it's all about the quality of your game guide and his team. They are the ones that can spot a leopard lounging in a tree from a mile away.

Nibbles & Tipples

A young elephant used our Land Rover as practice for his charging skills. He would run towards us at full speed and then when he got too close he would duck into the bush and hide behind his mum.

Ulusaba Rock Lodge is perched on and nestled into a huge outcrop of impressive boulders and rocks. This creates some very cosy intimate spaces, hidden away from view, such as this living room/ library situated directly under the outdoor dining deck.

God is in the details

A proper Safari is an experience that you should never forget. It helps of course, if the Lodge is as spectacularly memorable as the wildlife.
