Amsterdam Winter Lights Festival

On Our Radar

This magical time of year sees Amsterdam’s streets and waterways come alive with brilliant vibrancy during Amsterdam Light Festival. This year’s sculptures flow through Oosterdok, Oudeschans, Amstel, Nieuwe Keizersgracht, Plantage Muidergracht and Entrepotdok. Running until January, the displays exhibit the creative and innovative minds of both local and international artists, from the ‘Sleepwalk’ that allows you to explore artists’ works in the dark to ‘DISRUPT!’, portraying 20 disruptive artworks and five city stories aimed at shaking up Amsterdam and leading the path to change. Enjoyed by boat, bicycle or on foot, the festival creates luminous new structures whilst transforming existing architecture through beautifully innovative interpretations, which are only emphasised more by their impeccable reflections on the river. For a touch of festiveness even into the new year, Amsterdam is sure to ignite your interest.
