Discover South Tyrol, Italy

Imagine walking into a real winter wonderland…

This month we ventured to the Dolomites and went exploring through Italy’s enchanting region of South Tyrol. Known for its dramatic mountain peaks, breathtaking landscapes, magnificent architecture and delicious food, this region of the Dolomites is blissful during the colder seasons and is a place where dreams come true. As we have many hotels in this charming region, we decided to stay at one of our newest members, Hotel Schgaguler, a scandi-cool design hotel with an amazing spa and jacuzzi on the terrace; and the outstanding Seehof Nature Retreat, an otherworldly serene hotel placed on a frozen lake — both family-run alpine hideaways surrounded by the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Dolomites.

From the enchanting christmas markets in Bressanone (Brixen), to the charming village of Siusi, we took a cable car up to the top of the magnificent Alpe di Siusi, faced a beautiful 5km hike from the Skipass office to the cosy chalet of Malga Sanon, and indulged in some delicious strudel and Vin Brulé (Mulled Wine).

If you’re unsure where to spend a few days or a week in the winter seasons, be sure to venture up to the real winter wonderland of South Tyrol!

Duration: 2 days

Handy tip: Be sure to try the delicious local wine of Pitzner Lagrein 2018
