Discover

After the last couple of years, we think it’s fair to say many of us would be excited to attend the opening of an envelope. But with some incredible hotels set to open their doors soon, we really can’t contain ourselves. From firm holiday favourites to new contenders for this year’s hottest havens, we’ve rounded up a selection that will have you making some serious diary entries.

Santre Dolomythic Home

There’s a new kid on the block, or should we say, at the foot of La Plose. Radiating sunshine and moonbeams, this alpine oasis is set to take The Dolomites by storm. Goller brothers, Alex, Andreas and Christian run the show here, where the focus is very much on wellness and calm. If you’re looking to press pause, and enjoy some serious decompression, Santre Dolomythic Home has got your name on it. Serving up pure mountain magic, take your pick from their full service spa, or breathe in the incredible panoramic views over Bressanone. If your taste buds are looking for a treat, book a seat at the Chef’s Table, and see how fresh, local ingredients are combined to sublime perfection. And don’t pass up the opportunity to enjoy wine tastings with sommelier Andreas, in the hotel’s stunning natural quartz phyllite cellar. No need to leave the little ones at home either (unless you want to) as the hotel is geared up to keep even the most demanding of guests entertained – from ball pits to climbing walls to specially designed family suites, everything has been meticulously taken care of. The rooms range from san.light to san.set, with a natural colour palette that blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. So pack a case, leave your cares, and head for the clouds…

Opening Spring 2022. Save us a seat at bar.67. We’ll have a Smokey G&T, one of 3 signature cocktails…

Schloss Hotel Korb

Perched hill-top, with panoramic vistas over the stunning Dolomites, this magnificent medieval castle offers guests an enchanting stay they’ll never forget. If you’re looking to escape reality, you’ve come to the right place. Bordered by vineyards as far as the eye can see, another world awaits at this Tyrolean slice of history. Built by Baren Rosenberg in 1187, you can vacation like the royals, with 48 elegant rooms to choose from, all named after history’s most infamous couples. Will it be Adam and Eve, or perhaps Venus and Adonis? Pick a tower suite, turrets n’ all and lashings of romance will surely follow. Red roses abloom at this unique family-run retreat, as do suits of armour and coats of arms. Indulge your palate at the Restaurant Schloss Korb, and your body at their award-winning bio-infinity pool; much like a pond, but without any chemicals, or frogs, so bring your own prince. Underneath it all is a hidden war bunker that owner Fritz Dellago transformed into a wine cellar. From your first glass of aromatic Dellago Ginger Rose, to detoxifying in the unique barrel sauna, this is the stuff of fairytales. Being a dog-friendly hotel, even Bruno can be pampered alongside you.

Schloss Hotel Korb re-opens its stately wrought-iron gate on 1st April. And where better to enjoy spring in all its blossoming glory, than the picturesque village of Rosenegg, in beautiful South Tyrol.

Bellonias Villas

Ah, Santorini. The Greek island on everyone’s must-visit list. Renowned for being one of the world’s most romantic destinations, this gem of the Aegean is instantly recognizable with cliffs sprinkled with Cycladic-style white and blue buildings. Minimalistic in design, Bellonias Villas is no different and offers guests 27 crisp modern all-white suites that don’t need to compete with the spectacular views. Take your pick from the studio, apartment, superior with sea view, and honeymoon suites, where love is always on the menu. Set on a private section of the island’s famous black sand beach of Kamari, this is every beach lover’s paradise. Expect traditional Greek flavours, with a twist, at the hotel’s own á la carte restaurant, Elia, sandwiched between the beach and the hotel’s inviting pool. With award-winning chef Christos Papageorgiou at the helm, you know you’re never going to go hungry. Take advantage of the saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs, surrounded by a summery palm tree garden, or set sail around the island, on your own Greek adventure.

Re-opening late April/early May. Santorini always books up early, so reserve your spot today!

Tribe

Tribe evolved from one heartfelt belief – “that we coexist on a single planet and there is only one Tribe that matters… humankind.” This philosophy permeates throughout Nairobi’s spectacular retreat. Located in the country’s sophisticated Gigiri district, this unique property succeeds in creating a space that is respectful of its surroundings, whilst maintaining an experience that is nothing short of outstanding. Drawing much inspiration from African heritage, the décor perfectly combines elements of wood, glass, natural stone and metal, complemented by local fabric and furnishings to create interiors that are at once luxurious and relaxing. Enter this magnificent arena and be greeted by almost 900 hand-sculpted artefacts from all over the continent. The rooms are seriously luxe too with rain showers and 300 thread-count sheets as standard. It is also home to Nairobi’s only celebrity suite. A 1000 sq ft experience over two floors that will have the staff quickly signing NDA’s. Shh, we won’t tell if you don’t. Inspired by the open flame grill, the sensational Jiko restaurant offers both authentic and experimental delights, whilst the Kaya Spa, dubbed “One of the hottest urban retreats in the world”, is your one-stop destination to bliss. The treatment list is out of this world, imbued with all the enchantment of the Kaya forests. Make ours a “Death By Chocolate”. What a way to go.

After undergoing a major refurbishment this incredible sanctuary will be reopening the full hotel by June/July, with a soft opening in three weeks. We’re sold.

Locanda al Colle

Art lovers take note. What was once an old guesthouse, is now home to an impressive collection of artwork from the 1940’s to the 70’s. A firm fixture on the fashion scene, owner Riccardo Barsottelli, decided to buy the Tuscan property to store his eclectic art and furnishings – and why not? Creating a space that is at once luxurious and laid back, Riccardo has succeeded in creating a retreat that feels like that swanky friend’s home you never want to leave. There’s no reception nor pompous staff in uniforms, just an inviting ambiance which successfully marries the sophistication of the city with the warmth and comfort of the countryside. From the softest bed linen to freshly picked flowers, God really is in the details. Allow your host to prepare an alfresco feast under the stars, where candlelight flickers and Prosecco flows, under the vine-entwined pergola, as you savour the unforgettable tastes of the region. Overlooking the pretty little town of Camaiore, Locanda al Colle is truly a breath of fresh air. Just a hop, skip and a jump away from unspoilt beaches, guests can enjoy their own private gazebo at the local beach club too. But if that feels like too much effort, take in the heavenly views from the comfort of the heated salt-water pool, or bubbling whirlpool. And, exhale.

Locanda al Colle reopens its doors on 25th March. Let Riccardo know we’re on our way, and we just might have to stay…

casafantini / lake time

The story begins in 1947, when the Fantini family business was born. Fast-forward to today and the original 19th century building has been integrated into a whole new construction, under the skilled guide of Daniela Fantini. Designed by Piero Lissoni, this magical boutique hotel redefines luxury, and is primed to regenerate both body and soul. Set in the small town of Pella, beside Lake Orta, arguably Italy’s most romantic, this is “Lake Time'' at its finest. Every inch of casafantini / lake time has been designed to induce feelings of peace and harmony, revelling in the mystical mood of the lake. There are 11 luxurious rooms to choose from; each a perfect fusion of wood and stone, with smatterings of chrome, creating a space that is at once homely, yet refined. And every shower comes complete with a Turkish bath – it’s like your own personal Hamman, you just have to exfoliate yourself. The lounge is the beating heart of the hotel, where guests can unwind with an aperitif before enjoying a gourmet dinner, created by chef Paolo Bullone and his team. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, the entire property can be booked for a totally private vacanza; just be sure not to tip off the paparazzi.

Hope springs eternal at this sensational design property. Doors open on the 15th April, so what are you waiting for?

Cortisen am see

You’re going to feel like a kid in a candy store at Lake Wolfgang’s first ever boutique hotel. Greeted by a burst of joyful colours, Cortisen Am See boldly breaks all the rules. After undergoing a full facelift last year, this sensational property is poised to become one of Austria’s hottest destinations. Set upon the shores of the glittering lake, Roland Ballner’s destination hotel doesn’t fail to impress; an adults-only playground for those in search of… everything. The accommodation is both eclectic and luxurious, each suite unique, and ready to transport you to holiday heaven. Pull out all the stops and book the extraordinary Boat Shed Suite – with nothing between you and the lake; what better views to wake up to. Take a load off as you unwind on the upper deck of the boathouse, or let the professionals take over at the Feelness Oasis and say hello to a whole new you. If you need to burn off some energy, there’s a 25m indoor pool with unforgettable panoramic views, or a 70sqm state-of-the-art gym to flex your muscles. If that’s enough to work up an appetite, you’re in the right place. Days here start with a hearty six-course à la carte breakfast of mouthwatering local treats. We’re hooked and we’re sure you will be too.

Countdown the days to 15th April when this Austrian hotspot re-opens. See you on the lake!

Lido Palace

Originally built for holidaying royals, this palatial hotel is one of the most glamorous in Lake Garda. Located on the northern shores of the lake, with spectacular views of the Borromean islands, Lido Palace successfully mixes contemporary architecture with regal history. Dating back to the 19th-century, this five-star property is resplendent in every way possible. Behind its Art Nouveau façade is a mélange of modern day elegance and olde world charm; its interiors courtesy of architect Alberto Cecchetto. Each of the 42 rooms come in a contemporary chic palette of white and grey, with the top floor suites boasting an impressive 120sqm of sophisticated comfort. Indulge your taste buds in one of the two on-site restaurants, found within the spectacular structure that boldly stands out from the building. Be sure to don your finest threads if you’re dining at the Michelin Star awarded, Il Re della Busa, but if you’re looking for something slightly more low key, the Tremani might be more your style. Either way guests at Lido Palace dress to impress; there’s no room for sweat pants here, unless they’re designer. When you’re not immersed in indulgent rituals at the impressive CXI Spa, why not soak up the activities on offer on your doorstep. From sailing to windsurfing, trekking to people-watching, Lido Palace has everything for blue-blooded royals, and their high society entourage.

Enjoy La Belle Epoque, from this March.
