In Italy’s northeast Asiago region sits the tiny town of Lusiana, and La Scuola Guesthouse is a charmingly converted B&B (which translates to bed and brunch here), that was once a local schoolhouse.
A schoolhouse until the 1960s, each room is gently themed in line with various lessons taught, such as history and geography. There are five in total.
The hilltop town of Lusiana is perfectly in the midst of everything northeast Italy has to offer, from the canals of Venice to the foothills of the Alps.
This gorgeous room is named Science and celebrates the local flora and fauna in the region. It can sleep up to three and has its own private entrance - perfect for a small family.
The cute breakfast room brings back memories of being at school with its primary-coloured accent walls and mismatched furniture. This is country shabby chic at its finest.
A passion project by the owners who have lovingly kept many of this 1920s school building’s best features. Only local companies and artisans were used to convert it to a guesthouse and the owners’ love of hospitality shines through.
Lusiana has its own school of masonry who helped restore La Scuola Guesthouse, it's an embodiment of what a community can achieve.
